NE Pneumatic
Clutch
The NE
pneumatic clutch is a compact unit with pneumatic clutch and release by
spring reaction. It is responsible for transmitting the turning moment between
the driving part and the driven part. The drive air chamber is supplied
radially with compressed air at a nominal pressure of 5.5 bar. The air chamber
is static and air consumption is minimal.
Properly
regulating the air pressure, we will obtain control over the acceleration time
of the machine and also a limitation of the transmitted torque with the
corresponding safety for the rest of the mechanisms.
The NE pneumatic
clutch is a very compact pneumatic friction clutch. It transmits torque
when air pressure is applied, using the adhesion effect that occurs between the
friction material and the clutch disc, and disengages when pressure is no
longer applied thanks to the springs that release the clutch discs. The drive
air chamber is supplied radially with compressed air at a nominal pressure of
5.5 bar.
The NE
pneumatic clutch does not need a rotary air intake since the air chamber
is static.
The friction
coefficient of clutches is normally between 0.3 and 0.45.
It is very
important to choose the right clutch for each application, because if the
clutch is not capable of transmitting all the torque required by the
application, slippage between the contact surfaces occurs, which will cause
heat and premature wear. In turn, it is very important that the friction
surfaces are free of grease or oil.
