Precise encoder for industrial applications

The MOZ40 series is a high-quality optical incremental encoder that is designed for a long lifetime with its robust 39 mm metal housing and mechanically stable ball bearings. Thanks to the wide range of electrical output options, it can be used flexibly and is suitable for a variety of industrial applications.

The MOZ40 closes the gap between encoders for simple requirements and heavy-duty encoders and offers an optimum combination of reliability, high resolution and robust design.

With a resolution of up to 3600 imp/rev, the MOZ40 enables precise position determination. The cut-off frequency of up to 200 kHz ensures reliable signal processing, depending on the selected output type.

The signal is transmitted via the following output options:
 

• Open collector (K, HK - NPN):
  • K: Standard open collector output (pulls signal to low, requires pull-up resistor for high)
  • HK: Inverted open collector version (signal behaviour reversed to K)
• PNP output: Functions in the opposite way to the NPN open collector - actively switches the signal to high (VCC) and requires a pull-down resistor for low
• Voltage output (NPN): Direct connection to analogue circuits, works with fixed voltage levels
• Push-pull: Active high and low signals for fast signal changes and direct control inputs
• Line driver: Differential signal transmission for interference-free data transmission over longer cable runs

The axial connection via a 0.5 m round cable enables simple integration. Longer cable variants up to 3 m or customized lengths are optionally available.

The maximum speed is up to 5000 rpm, whereby the usable number of pulses is limited by the cut-off frequency of 200 kHz.

• Electrical connection: 0.5 m round cable (optional 1 m, 3 m or customized length)
