Precise encoder for reliable position measurement

The MOM18 is an optical incremental encoder with a compact and high-quality design. With a housing diameter of just 18 mm and a housing depth of 15.5 mm, it is ideal for applications with limited installation space that still require high precision. The ball bearing ensures high mechanical stability and a long lifetime.

An outstanding feature of the MOM18 is its high cut-off frequency of up to 240 kHz, which enables fast signal processing. This means that fine pulse resolutions can be reliably processed even at higher speeds, without signal delays or inaccuracies.

Two output options are available for signal transmission:

• Open collector: Enables a customizable signal voltage through external pull-up resistors and can operate various controls. The output can also perform simple switching functions directly
• Line Driver: Utilizes differential signals for interference-free signal transmission, especially with long cable runs or in environments with electromagnetic interference

Thanks to the various pulse numbers up to 1600 pulses/rev and the selectable output signals (open collector or line driver), the MOM18 can be used for a wide range of applications. The standard axial ribbon cable connection with HIROSE connector facilitates integration; a radial connection variant is available as an option. With its integrated reference pulse (Z-channel), the MOM18 offers precise position detection.
