ETx25F encoders with hardened and tempered metal sleeve bearings are used for reliable angle measurement in applications with singleturn (360°) analogue, PWM, incremental or SPI output, or multiturn (up to 72,000°) with analogue output.

The ETx25F encoders are part of the ETx25 family. Common to these encoders are non-contact angle measurement based on Hall technology, high reliability, long life and independent linearity of up to ±0.3% for single-turn and ±0.05% @3600° for multiturn variants. The latter can be programmed on-site by the customer.

The ETx25F encoders are designed to meet environmental requirements with protection ratings up to IP55M/IP66S and continuous operating speeds up to 100 rpm. Mounting is via two M3 screws (not supplied). A circular groove for an optional O-ring is provided on the front of the ETx25F housing to protect against liquid and dust ingress. The O-ring (included with option D) is inserted between the mounting plate and the encoder to provide IP55M/IP66S protection. Electrical connection options such as round or ribbon cable complete the profile. The following electronics are available

ETA25F Singleturn absolute encoder (redundant version ETA25FX):
Supplies an absolute analogue signal with 12-bit resolution. For safety-critical applications, galvanically isolated and redundant electronics are available (see ETA25FX series in the data sheet).

ETA25FPM programmable multiturn or single-turn absolute encoder:
Programmable encoder for rotation angles up to 72000° (200 revolutions), can also be used as programmable singleturn encoder. Resolution 12 bit, with current or voltage output. Signal can be programmed on site.

ETI25 singleturn incremental encoder:
With up to 10,000 pulses / per revolution and availability of following output signals: TTL, Push-Pull or Open Collector

ETS25 serial singleturn angle encoder:
Available with SSI (10-18 bit) or SPI (14 bit resolution, available as redundant version)

ETP25F PWM single-turn encoder:
With PWM output

The ETA25FPM is a multiturn encoder. The electrical effective angle of 10 turns (3600°, CW) is preset at the factory. If you require specific angle ranges for your application (up to 72,000°, CW/CCW), you have the option of having us program the electrically effective angle and sense of rotation or making the settings yourself on site. For the latter, we recommend our "PRO" programming unit. It can be used to make the settings for each and thus any number of ETA25FPMs. Of course, you can adjust the encoder to the application by means of an external circuit (of your own), which we describe in the programming instructions.

The wide range of electronics variants for different power supplies and the variety of electrical interfaces for the output of measured values allow the ETx25F encoders to be optimally integrated into the application. The encoders can also be customized. Hundreds of possible combinations can be realized at short notice using the ordering matrices in the data sheets. Popular options include

• changing the direction of rotation from CW (clockwise) to CCW (counterclockwise)
• user-defined rotation angles
• sealing rings for higher IP protection of the shaft and for sealing between housing and mounting surface
